I have heard people say this phrase for so many years now, and I have to admit, I didn’t know the history behind it. But not anymore, that all changed when I turned on the TV and just like that - bam!! there was none other than the (then skinnyarse of) Mr. Robert De Niro on his 1976 movie the “Taxi Driver”. Apparently, the phrase is number 10 on AFI’s 100 Years… 100 Movie Quotes list.
I don’t want to say too much about the movie other than it was pointless. At least when I watched it, it was. Maybe it meant something when it first came out!! The kind of a movie that looks like its going somewhere and all of a sudden everyone dies and the movie is over, and you wonder - WTF?? It just messes up with your head! But I had no choice, I couldn’t turn off the TV after I heard De Niro say “you talkin to me??”. Well, I was bored out of your mind anyway and was willing to watch anything that’s was on. Anything except for I love New York - on VH1 - while we are talking about messing up your head.
Where was I? I guess, the point I am trying to convey is, if you would like to talk to me, send me an email or call me!! But for God’s sake, please don’t go to one of my random posts in the blog and comment on it saying - “how have you been?” If nothing else, please go to my “About Me” page, intuitively labeled as “Me Who” and fill that form out, that way I at least get an email.
I don’t get emails for every comment that gets posted. I think I am passed that stage….
I strongly urge people to not buy pirated and illegal softwares. Because if we do, then we’d be taking the Jaguars and the Benz off the garages of software company’s hot-shots. And if we download pirated music, the artists are not going to be able to buy the 32nd pair of the diamond tooth they always wanted.
I got a new phone recenly, so here I am, trying to be this law abiding citizen, looking to download a ringtone for my cell phone the right way. So I go to t-mobile.com to see what’s out there. I browse through a couple of songs that I like, make up my mind to pay for it and guess how much it costs?? $2.49!!
Isn’t this stealing?? How can this be real?? If a full song can be bought for 99 cents at the apple store, how can the 30 second piece of the same song cost $2.49? How can that kind of pricing be justified??
I know, I know that there are kids dying in this world because their parents can’t afford to feed their children or give them safe water to drink, and here I am talking about how a stupid ring-tone for my cell phone is over-priced!! But whatever!! This still is legal stealing!! Ringtone my arse!! I am staying old-school.
